Wednesday was a nice quiet day. I hadn't realized how tired I was until the day after we got home from the hospital. I enjoyed the quiet time with Trey...Shane was working and the other kids were at school. Peaceful at least for a few hours! :)
Trey was in good spirits. He looked good and was more talkative. Some might think it's great to have so much time off from school, but I can tell you, Trey misses it so much! He especially misses ALL of his friends! He has talked with a few friends on the phone and it just brightens his whole face! Thanks for keeping in touch with him! He also doesn't get out of doing homework. Wednesday was the first day he really felt well enough to do some school work. He reads alot too.
Wednesday night though, Trey got really nervous. He didn't get much sleep from all his worrying. Yesterday was clinic day and he was afraid of being "poked" with the needle. But courageous Trey, triumphant Trey, braved the needled and he won! It's kind of hard to explain, but when he was in the hospital he had a port placed in his chest. The port enables the nurses and doctors to take blood samples and give Trey his medications without having to poke him with lots of needles. They numb the area with a special cream and then with one poke, inserts the needle into the port. Trey was sooooo surprised at how it DID NOT hurt! All his worry... now it won't be so bad for the next visit! WAY TO GO TREY!!!
He had one chemo treatment given. This is given through the port. He also had to have another lumbar puncture or spinal tap. This is done to make sure that the luekemia is not in the fluid which can go to the brain. They also give a dose of chemo through the spinal tap as precaution. Trey also had another bone marrow aspiration. This tests to see if the bone marrow is making blood cells correctly. Hopefully the test results with be good and that next week he will not have to have these two proceedures. He will need to have them done at least one other time later in the month. Luckily Trey is asleep for these proceedures, so he doesn't feel a thing. But it is pretty sore later on when he wakes up.
Once again, we want to thank everyone for all your prayers. I know our lives have been blessed because of them! We have such wonderful family and friends. You are all incredible!!! We send our love out to all of you!!

Way to go Trey!! I don't like being poked with needles either, but you faced it straight on, and you beat your fear. Gracie and Daemyn ask about you everyday, and we pray for you too!! We love ya buddy!!
